HEALTH CAMP AND AWARENESS PROGRAMMES
- Participated in Public Awareness Campaigns on Health Child Labour Agricultural and Environment Issues. Two health camps were held at Bhoothpur and Bijinepallymandals of Mahabubnagar District during the year 2013 & 2014 respectively in which the Government and Private Doctors have participated and had health checkup, referral services and distribution of medicines. About 200 patients were enrolled during the camp and got the benefit.
- Similarly, as a part of Better Cotton Initiative Programme, Public Awareness Campaigns were conducted during the year 2014 & 2015 in Guntur and Mahabubnagar Districts.About 1000 farmers have attended. This has helped to partly eliminate child labour.
- Has a part of water shed management development programme in KesampetMandal of Mahabubnagar District awareness programmes were conducted for the Agricultural and Environment concerns.
- Sensitisation programme including water management. The meetings were organised to in all villages (seven villages) by Participatory Rural Development Initiative Society (PRDIS) along with DWMA of Mahabubnagar. About 2000 villagers were benefited. Kalajathara Programme were used for this purpose.
- Three patients were given monitoring assistants for eye surgery was given to a patient of bomb blast at Hyderabad.
- Participated and mobilized the public for the Hygiene and sanitation camps organized by the Bhoothpur Municipality of Mahbubnagar district. During this campaign SVFD has send the experts for providing knowledge about need for Hygiene and sanitation. Furthermore, the organization also has provided drinking water facilities during the campaign. About 500 households participated from different villages of the mandal.
- A health camp was organised in Karimnagar district in collaboration with Krushi Foundation. Specialized doctors from various fields, including General Physician, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, attended the camp. The camp benefited 150 individuals who attended the OPS and 35 cases were referred for further evaluation.
- Linking SVFD with Cancer Center of Kansas and Arbuda (USA based organisation) for providing secondary opinion and advise to cancer patients through one of the Trustees who is an Oncologist at Cancer Center of Kansas, Wichita, USA. The resource poor eligible patients were getting free treatment and guidance which has helped them to transform their lives
- SVFD supported Counselling facilities at old age homes to elders on Lifestyle Management and to lead stress free through Yoga and Meditation
